Well, I’m averaging a 7min Kilometer, so if I can keep breathing I’ll be done in 35 minutes for my 5K. I guess I better try a practice 5K this weekend and see how long I can actually continuously run.
1.5 miles in 19min
Title says it all. Now if I can just have enough breath to do the other 1.5 miles to complete a 5K I’ll be done in 40 minutes. However, I’m going to try for better seeing as I finished my first 5k in 44 minutes, shaving 4 minutes off my time isn’t enough. I’m going to keep doing these 2n2 intervals this week and see what shape I’m in on Saturday.

Lost track of the day…
I don’t have a clue nor do I care what day this is. I’m pretty sure that is because my new 2-2 interval just kicked my butt. I can’t seem to get my lungs to cooperate with me I’m always out of breath that last 2 medium intensity section. I’ll give the interval another try in a day or 2.
Here are the numbers:

Back on Track
I went walking yesterday for 30 minutes. Today I started over on my interval training, the easy one. I can say that compared to 2 weeks ago, I made it to the last 1 minutes medium and wasn’t too out of breath. I hope the next time I use it I can complete the whole thing without breathing heavier than if I just fast walked that distance. So here is the data, seems that cut/paste from endomondo.com works. Something keeps causing an error when I try to share. oh well. Time for a shower, breakfast and my 2nd day back at work. Don’t ask about the 1st day 😦

Off Task
Well I got off task for the last few days. Working on getting back to an exercise schedule. Would be nice if the endomondo app could post here like it does to facebook.
Day 8 – 5K Training
Only walking as planned. Was able to complete 1.97 miles in 32m:31s The weather is much nicer here in Dallas than at home. Not looking forward to the workouts when I return. The RGV humidity is terrible.
Day 6 and Day 7 – 5K Training
Day 6 I tried to walk 3.1 miles or 5k I miss judged the distance of my route so I ended up .25 mi short and finished in 42min 42sec
Day 7 I’ve not done anything so taking a day of rest. Will get back at it tomorrow, will probably just walk for 30 min.
Day 4 and 5 – 5K training
Day 4 – nothing gave my left leg a rest and finished painting my kitchen.
Day 5 – did the last day of my 3 low 1 med interval training. Going to just try to walk 3.1 miles the next few days. Will start a 2 low 2med interval on Monday.
My next 5k – Day 2 and Day 3
Day 2 was boring I just walked 2.7 miles. I’m using trial and error to see how long it takes me to walk a 5K.
Day 3 this one has made me hurt. Both of my shins are throbbing and my right knee is protesting. I did my 3 low 1 med interval run again, same as Day 1. Pain in my shins took my mind of my breathing so I wasn’t sucking wind as bad until the last set. According to the scale, I lost 3 pounds of sweat. I’m thinking my scale is whacked. My major goal for the rest of today is to drink 6 glasses of water. 1 I’m drinking now as I type.
Tomorrow I plan on just walking. Going to get in my truck later and drive a 3.1 mile route so I can get a feel for the distance.
My next 5k
Doesn’t that subject title make is sound like I’ve run alot of them? Truth this will only be my 2nd one. I ran my first one 3 years ago. I think I finished that one in 43 minutes. I half jogged / half walked it. My goal for this one is to jog the whole thing. 3.1 miles = 5k So I’m going to try out interval training, I found an easy pattern either on sparks.com or from runner’s world. I was tired when I looked it up so I’m not sure which. Basically its 3 mins low, 1 minute medium, 3 min low, 1 minute med, … repeat until you hit 27 minutes. Time to give it a try… now where did I put my running shoes?
